I thought the LA Gang Tour and those who told their personal stories along with the history of gangs was incredibly moving. We were not passive racists at all, rather choosing to understand how the situation in certain parts of our city got so out of hand. I would happily pay money to understand the culture behind the city I live in and support my fellow Los Angeles residents who are trying to create a better world for their friends and families. Good job guys, and good luck. I was moved.

You can drive close to or through “gang areas” in LA and almost always be ok. Just don’t hang out there, obviously. The media just scares people into thinking they’d get shot for driving down the wrong street. If you mind your own business, and stay in public areas… you’ll be ok.

That’s the truth right there. The left wing media has to keep this pseudo-reality in play so they can keep folks divided. I am actually considering doing some gang outreach work but I am a little hesitant because if I am making progress with a kid and he windes up getting killed, I’d be hurt. No I am not a bleeding heart, but I think conservatives and even libertarians need to get involved in some social issues more activley to counter the left.

@gworksnell Dude that is an amazing insight. One I frankly would have never had. I love the entrepenurial spirit of the people giving the tours, but the passive racism is something that is undenyable. They take these tours and you just know they are thinking that the government should do something about this. They look at the people in these neighborhoods as lesser people because of their circumstance. And the sad thing is that it is the government that has put them in that circumstance.

I lived next to compton in the city of carson(not as bad city-wide, but has it’s places that are just as bad as compton), I drove through gang neighborhoods every day and noone ever messed with me. I’m sorry to sound racial here..but only dumb WHITE liberals would pay for something like this.
