I’m planning to go to a beach and I’m interested in Marinduque. If you have any experience as a tourist on this island, please tell me about your stay and any tips. I’m not sure which website regarding the province has the most comprehensive tourist details (eg. resorts, hotels, fees, etc.) and has most reliable reviews.
Marinduque is not really the good place to be as of the moment. Try other places like Tagaytay or Baguio since it’s really hot right now not to mention it’s El Ñino time once more this year.

My mom is from Marinduque and I go there often for vacations. It’s great. It’s my favorite vacation spot because it’s very laidback and relaxing. You get to check out of life for a while. You get to experience total relaxation in a simple rural province as compared to more touristy destinations. Although my experience is different because we have a house and family on the island.
I don’t know much about accommodations. There are several resorts on the island but they are 1 to 2 stars at best. It should be fine if you’re not a creature of comfort. There is a 5 star resort in Marinduque called Bellarocca. It’s very expensive though but the experience is straight out of the lifestyles of the rich and famous.
The best time to go is during the holy week and fiesta. You get to see moriones during holy week and several parades and events during fiesta season. The beaches are so so. There are 3 beautiful islands called Melchor, Gaspar, Baltazar. Imagine your own private lagoon. There are no resorts on these islands but you can hire a local boatman to take you there. The corals used to be stunning but dynamite fishing has ruined the marine seascape. Not to mention littering.
All in all, I’d say it doesn’t measure that well compared to other tourist spots. However, Marinduque has its own charm.
