I’m danish and I can’t see why this offends anyone. People who know of Lars Von Trier knows that he’s got a twisted mind where those exact “ads” actually could have been in a movie.
This Onion was made a little while after the imfamous clip where the “young danish mother seeking a dad” was discovered to be a false. Thank God for self-irony!!!

Most people who think this is funny are either Danes or knowledgeable about von Trier. I’m part of the latter and I find it hilarious mainly because it seems like something he would actually do.
That said, all the Danish people I’ve met are very friendly, not to mention great to drink with. I’d love to visit one day, though the price of flying over the Atlantic makes that impossible at this point in time. Driving to New Jersey will have to do for now (*sobs uncontrollably*)
