Can anyone please recommend good beach resorts in St John, St Thomas or Puerto Rico?

Posted on July 6th, 2010 by admin in resorts | 4 Comments »

I am planning a vacation trip with my wife and would love to visit US Virgin Islands (St John, St Thomas) or Puerto Rico in mid Sept 09. I am interested in a nice place with good beaches and water sports. I understand the risk of hurricanes exists but prefer the scant crowds and better rates of mid Sept. Can anyone recommend good beach resorts in St John, St Thomas or Puerto Rico? (something like Caneel Bay, St John or Ritz Carlton, St Thomas or similar) . Thanks!

St John has the Westin and Caneel Bay
St Thomas- The Ritz, The marriott, Sugar Bay Wyndam….and those are the nice ones they have…..umm Puerto Rico im not sure about when i go over i stay with family friends!

How close is Colorado State University to major ski resorts?

Posted on July 3rd, 2010 by admin in resorts | 3 Comments »

I want to go to Colorado state university and i was wondering how close it is to some major ski resorts. What are the closest ski resorts? Also, if you attend or have attended CSU, how often do kids drive out to got skiing?

I go to CSU!

It’s about 2 hours, which really isn’t bad. I go every weekend and once during the week, and there are two skiing clubs.

One club, the snowriders, has a bus, and for $15 they take you to the slopes. But they’re a bunch of drinkers and partiers, and who wants to pay 15 bucks?

the other club is the Outdoor club, it’s pretty informal and people go every weekend, there are also tons of backcountry skiers, since Rocky Mountain National Park is 30minutes away.

If you sign up for both you can send an email to all the members and ask for rides up to the mountains. Maybe you’ll end up going with me one day even!

What is the best of the smaller ski resorts in Lake Tahoe, CA area?

Posted on June 30th, 2010 by admin in resorts | 4 Comments »

I am looking to go to one of the smaller, less crowded ski resorts in the lake tahoe area. I am trying to avoid the larger ski resorts, ie Northstar, Heaveanly. Preferably it would have good ski classes and a good selection of runs. I am a intermediate to advanced skier but will be going with other less experienced people. Any recommendations or comments?

My choice would be Sugar Bowl, especially if you live to the North of Tahoe. Excellent snow record, and some terrific intermediate runs on Mount Judah. The new condos at Sugar Bowl village look great as well.

What are the best beach resorts in Mindanao, Phillippines?

I’m visiting family in Gingoog City, 2.5 hours NE of Cagayan de Oro. What are the best beach resorts that are resonably close to spend a few days?

Camiguin Island, 1.5 hours by car from Cagayan de Oro, then another 45 minutes by ferry, has lots to offer, including cultural places to visit. Although the seaside is not always perfect for swimming, it has resorts that have swimming pools, and trips can be arranged for a day at the white sand beach. You see, it has a white sand island/sand bar that offers nothing but sand – right in the middle of the sea. You take a short boat ride to get there. It is also a volcanic island that has a hot spring resort (fresh water), and an underwater cemetery (a 19th century volcanic eruption buried a town and its cemetery) – something for scuba divers to explore. The whole island can be considered a "resort" with so many things to offer. Most travel agencies would have tour packages to Camiguin Island.

Do I have to reserve a copy of wii sports resorts?

Posted on June 26th, 2010 by admin in resorts | 4 Comments »

I’m planning on getting wii sports resorts the day it comes out. Do I have to reserve a copy to be able to get it the day it comes out?

It wouldn’t hurt to.

It’s hard to tell what will happen.
If you don’t reserve it and it sells out, you’re out of luck.
If you reserve it and it sells out, you’ll be happy you did.

Thanks to The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, visitors dont have to travel to Italy to stroll through St. Marks Square and over the Bridge of Sighs or take a gondola ride on the Grand Canal. The Venice of the Medicis is replicated in meticulous detail at this luxury Las Vegas hotel; aged stonework, imported marble and skilled craftsmanship create a refined and magnificent reproduction. All the music, dining, nightlife, entertainment and art that characterized the Italian Renaissance are equally celebrated at The Venetian, making for a fun-filled and exhilarating Las Vegas vacation.

With its soaring, frescoed ceilings, marble pillars and rich carpets, this Las Vegas resorts lobby is extravagant, owing to its soft gold and cream palette. The palatial atmosphere is sustained throughout the all-suites accommodations, which run upward of 650 square feet and feature bedrooms and sunken living areas appointed with stately furnishings and luxurious textiles. Modern amenities in these Las Vegas suites include flat-screen televisions, DVD and CD players, high-speed Internet connections and automated Roman blinds. Sprawling en suite marble baths have Roman soaking tubs and separate glass showers, twin sinks and decorative finishes, like golden hardware and ornamental mirrors.

There is no shortage of authentic Italian restaurants at The Venetian, including Trattoria Reggiano, Enoteca San Marco and Mario Batalis trendy B&B Ristorante. Flavors from France are served at the upscale Bouchon courtesy of chef Thomas Keller, while pan-Asian fare is prepared at Ralph Scamardellas Tao. Emeril Lagasse and Wolfgang Puck deliver cuisine from the new world at Delmonico Steak House and Postrio, respectively. Snack bars, bakeries and in-suite dining are also available, as well as the ultimate in health food prepared at the Canyon Ranch Café and Grill. Aside from pouring stellar wines, several bars, lounges and nightclubs offer beer, signature cocktails and martinis.
